Gina Prince-Bythewood tapped to direct Silver Sable and Black Cat

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood has been tasked with bringing Marvel characters Silver Sable And Black Cat to the big screen for a new movie.
The project, an offshoot of the Spider-Man universe, will centre on mercenary Silver Sable and stealthy burglar Black Cat, also known as Felicia Hardy.
Casting details have yet to be revealed, but Black Cat was previously portrayed onscreen by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actress Felicity Jones, who made a brief appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014.
Prince-Bythewood will rework the original script penned by Thor: The Dark World screenwriter Christopher Yost for release under Sony Pictures, reports Deadline.com.
The Beyond The Lights director is only the second female moviemaker to take charge of a live-action Marvel film, following in the footsteps of Anna Boden, who is co-directing Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel picture with Ryan Fleck.
Silver Sable and Black Cat is expected to be released after another Spider-Man spin-off, Venom, which will star Tom Hardy as the titular character and his alter ego Eddie Brock. Ruben Fleischer is shooting that film later this year (17) ahead of an October, 2018 launch.
Gina is no stranger to the world of comic book adaptations – she recently filmed the pilot for the upcoming Cloak & Dagger TV series, featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
