Hugh Jackman happy to shave off Wolverine 3 mutton chops

Hugh Jackman has bid farewell to his mutton chops-style beard after wrapping production on the new Wolverine movie.
The Australian actor has long maintained X-Men spin-off movie Wolverine 3 will be his final outing as the clawed Marvel mutant, and on Monday (22Aug16), Hugh shared a video clip of himself shaving off his thick facial hair for good.
“Goodbye!” he declared in the footage, as he buzzed off the last of his beard. “My wife will be very happy!”
He captioned the clip with a similar message, and added the hashtag, “#GoodbyeChops”.
Wolverine 3 will reunite Hugh with his X-Men franchise co-star Patrick Stewart, who returns as Charles Xavier, aka Professor X. Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, and Stephen Merchant will also feature.
The action blockbuster, directed by James Mangold, is set for release in March, 2017.
Jackman has portrayed Wolverine and his alter ego Logan on the big screen since 2000’s X-Men, but the actor, 47, has been open about his desire to move on from the longrunning franchise.
“This will be my last one,” Jackman told TV medic Dr. Oz last year (15). “It is my last time. It felt like it was the right time to do it. Seventeen years, I never thought in a million years it would last this long.”
Wolverine 3 marks Hugh’s ninth outing as the titular comic book character, which he most recently reprised for 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and again in X-Men: Apocalypse earlier this year (16), although that brief appearance was uncredited.
