Incarcerated Meek Mill Remaining Upbeat Behind Bars

Jailed rapper Meek Mill remains in “high” spirits despite spending Christmas behind bars, according to his basketball star pal James Harden.

The Houston Rockets ace paid a visit to Meek at the State Correctional Institution in Chester, Pennsylvania on Tuesday (26Dec17) and reported back to fans on social media after the catch-up.

“Got a chance to see my bro Meek Mill today,” Harden wrote on Instagram. “His spirit is high and hopefully we can get him out by February (sic).”

The sportsman also shared a message from the hip-hop star, adding, “Told me to tell y’all when he get out he got some (fire) for y’all (sic).”

Khloe Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend isn’t the first famous friend to visit Meek in prison – fellow basketball player Joel Embiid and embattled NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick have also been among the MC’s visitors since he was sentenced to two-to-four years behind bars in November (17) for violating his probation relating to a 2008 drug and gun bust.

Lawyers for the Ima Boss hitmaker, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, have repeatedly tried and failed to have the star released on bail since the ruling, which they formally appealed in early December (17).

Harden’s comments emerge days after rapper Lil Uzi Vert showed his support for Meek by introducing the 30-year-old’s young son, Papi, to the stage at his A Very Uzi Christmas Tour stop in their native Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 22 December (17), when the child performed part of his dad’s track, Dreams and Nightmares, for the crowd.

Ironically, Meek’s ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, also made a surprise guest appearance at the show.
