Jane Fonda marches in Canada over Independence Day weekend

JANE FONDA spent her Independence Day weekend (04-05Jul15) marching through the streets of Toronto in Canada as part of an environmental protest.
The veteran actress headed to the city on Sunday (05Jul15) to take part in the March for Jobs, Justice & the Climate, which called for changes to the country’s economy to provide more work and better handling of environmental issues.
Fonda held a placard and marched with demonstrators, while she also made a speech at the event, telling the crowd, “This is the kind of coalition that will make the difference. They are saying we don’t have to choose between the environment and the economy. That’s a false choice. In fact, renewable energy – doing away with the fossil fuel-based economy – will create more jobs, more democracy and more justice.”
The march comes just weeks after Fonda took part in a Greenpeace rally in Vancouver, Canada to raise awareness of a number of environmental problems facing British Columbia.
