Justin Timberlake serves up new album with bizarre bug cuisine

Justin Timberlake has launched his forthcoming album Man Of The Woods with a forest-themed party where guests were served insects as hors d’oeuvres.
The Cry Me A River singer debuted his new record at a listening party for music industry insiders, journalists, and American Express cardholders at the Skylight in New York City’s Clarkson Square on Tuesday (16Jan18).
Justin pulled out all the stops in giving lucky guests the full forest experience – even serving up bugs including grasshoppers and ants as canapes.
Billboard writer Brian A. Hernandez, who was at the launch party, revealed on Twitter, “We just ate grasshoppers and ants with Justin Timberlake, who played us his entire album #ManOfTheWoods before it’s released 2/2 (02Feb18) ahead of his Super Bowl halftime show.”
Due to a non-disclosure agreement the writer was unable to reveal any more details about the record, but added that the bugs were “FILTHY”.
He later tweeted a picture of a menu from the event, revealing chefs from acclaimed Danish restaurant Noma had provided ants coated in black garlic and rose oil and served up grasshoppers with aebleskiver, a traditional Danish pancake.
The 36-year-old musician is hosting another exclusive listening event on Wednesday (17Jan18), and has given fans an early taste of his new tracks by releasing a short documentary on the making of the album.
Describing the record in the promotional film, Justin spoke about how he wanted to return to his Tennessee roots and “mix it with something modern”.
The full record debuts next month (Feb18), ahead of the singer’s Super Bowl half-time show.
His gig at American football’s showpiece event in Minnesota, will be his first Super Bowl appearance since scandalising National Football League bosses by inadvertently exposing Janet Jackson’s breast during the 2004 half-time concert.
