Kate Bosworth took a step back from acting to make ‘meaningful’ films

Actress Kate Bosworth took a step back from acting to focus on making the world a better place.
After shooting to fame in the 2002 surfing film Blue Crush, the star tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph she no longer wanted to be a puppet on screen and instead opted to make films that made a difference as a producer.
“If you want to make change you have to step in and be the change,” she says. “I feel an intense need and I have an insatiable drive to tell meaningful stories, ones with impact.”
The actress now oversees the production company Make Pictures, alongside her husband Michael Polish, revealing they work well together: “We urge one another to make the world a better place through our art.”
The first release from the pair’s production house was 2017’s Nona, which focused on sex trafficking. The couple is also working together on new heist-in-a-hurricane movie Force of Nature, in which Bosworth will star opposite Mel Gibson.
