Nas pays tribute to Belly and Street Dreams co-star Frank Vincent

Rapper Nas has paid tribute to The Sopranos and Goodfellas actor Frank Vincent following his death on Wednesday (13Sep17).
The veteran actor, who was best known for his roles in Martin Scorsese movies such as Raging Bull and Casino and Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing, died during surgery after suffering a heart attack last week. He was 78.
Nas and Frank starred together in 1998 movie Belly, video director Hype Williams’ big screen debut. And Nas paid tribute to the star on social media, praising him for taking the time to coach him as an actor and for making an appearance in his 1996 video Sweet Dreams.
“Loved him. Frank Vincent. He was class, talented, smart, real, street and all the above! A legend RIP my man,” he wrote in a caption besides a picture of Vincent.
And in another post of the pair taken from his Street Dreams video he wrote: “Frank Vincent, from CLASSIC’S (sic) like Raging Bull. Goodfellas, Casino.. the list goes on.. this man took the time to not only coach me in BELLY, But also bless my Street Dreams music video with his presence in Las Vegas directed by Hype Williams like the same day (rapper) Tupac passed. It’s so deep he passed years later the same day as Pac. He was humble and wise and told me ‘just act natural.’ Thank you Frank!”
The Hype Williams-directed video for Street Dreams was an ode to Scorsese’s Casino, the 1995 gangster movie in which Vincent also co-starred.
Vincent would go on to appear in Williams’ Belly in 1998 in which he starred as Federal Agent Roger. On set, the veteran actor also served as the official acting coach to Nas, DMX and Method Man.
