Quran Pender awaiting court on drugs charge

Actor Quran Pender is in custody amid allegations he was part of a drugs ring trafficking cocaine from America’s West Coast to New York. Pender, who starred alongside Danny Glover and Queen Latifah in 2004 movie The Cookout, was held by cops in May last year (13) when they reportedly smashed a huge narcotics ring.
He was arrested in California and was returned to his native Big Apple on five counts of felony conspiracy and criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to the New York Post.
Law enforcement sources tell the publication that Pender, who also uses the alias Storm P, was part of a drugs ring netting tens of thousands of dollars per deal. It was reportedly smashed when one of the gang assassinated another in Manhattan last year (13).
Pender is being held on $500,000 (£312,500) bail and is due in court next month (Mar14).
