The 1998 film, helmed by Griffin Dunne, featured a stellar cast including Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, and Dianne Wiest.
The original ‘Practical Magic’ revolves around the story of two sisters, both witches, who are brought up by their unconventional aunts in a quaint town. They encounter societal prejudice and struggle against a curse that looms over them, endangering their chances of finding true love.
Practical Magic 2: What to Expect
The announcement of the sequel follows a wave of excitement from fans, ignited by a midnight revelation on TikTok. This homage paid tribute to the memorable “midnight margaritas” scene from the original film. It also heralded the movie’s digital release and availability for streaming.
In addition to starring, Sandra and Nicole will also produce the film alongside Denise Di Novi, known for producing the original film and iconic 2000s romcoms like ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ and ‘What a Girl Wants’. Regarding the film’s development, Akiva Goldsman has been selected to pen the screenplay.
