Rita Moreno joins Barbra Streisand as one of only three PEGOT winners

West Side Story star Rita Moreno is set to become only the third person in history to land Peabody, Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony awards.
The Latino star has been named the latest recipient of the Peabody career achievement honour and now she joins Barbra Streisand and the late Mike Nichols among the only winners of all five major trophies.
The 87-year-old actress and singer will be honoured at the Peabodys annual gala in New York City on 18 May (19).
Meanwhile, she has also landed a role in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming West Side Story remake – as store boss Valentina.
The role was originally set for a character named Doc, and played by Ned Glass in the 1961 movie musical. Rita played Anita in the film and picked up her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
