Shaun Ryder lost first job after biting dog

Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder lost his first job as a postal worker after biting a dog.
The reformed hellraiser, 57, displayed a knack for getting into trouble from his schooldays, indulging in petty crime in his childhood in Manchester, England.
To get him out of trouble, Shaun’s granddad helped him get a job as a postal worker after he left school at 15, but the rocker has now admitted he was sacked for a very unusual reason.
“I had dropped a tab of acid probably to relieve the boredom then on the round as I was stepping up to be promoted to a postman, this terrier dog at a pub I delivered to, tried to attack me,” he told British newspaper The Sun.
“So I thought I am not having this, I grabbed it, bit it on its head threw it down and gave a kick up the bum. As it went another post man who was passing in his van saw what happened and reported me. That was it I was suspended but I had already started the band so I wasn’t too bothered.”
Shaun’s teenage years and early adulthood are to be the subject of a new biopic, starring Seberg actor Jack O’Connell as the Step On hitmaker.
The film will also feature Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs as his dad, Derek, Holliday Grainger as his girlfriend, and The Theory of Everything star Maxine Peake as his long-suffering mother.
