Tom Hanks ‘Will Kill’ Anyone Who Throws Him A Surprise Party — Except ONE Person…

Tom Hanks is planning to celebrate his 60th birthday in July (16) with a “delightful can of beer”.

The actor reaches the landmark age on 9 July, but while many people choose to have huge celebrations for such a big day, Tom is planning on keeping things low-key.

“I’m gonna be 60 in July! Can you believe it?!” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I grew up having my birthdays in the summertime where everybody is dispersed. The day will go by with a little bit of a nod and maybe a delightful can of beer.”

Tom was speaking at the premiere of his new movie A Hologram for the King at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday night (20Apr16).

He added that if anyone, such as his wife Rita Wilson, tries to plan a surprise party for his birthday, they will be in big trouble.

“If there is (a surprise party) I’m gonna kill somebody!” he joked.

One person who might be able to get away with organising some kind of celebration for Tom’s big day is Oprah Winfrey. The duo are close friends and Tom enjoys spending time with his pal.

“If Oprah calls and says, ‘Do you want to hang?,’ who turns down that opportunity?” he said.

Tom’s latest movie offering, A Hologram for the King, sees him playing Alan Clay, a businessman who travels to Saudi Arabia to pitch an idea to a monarch there. Tom jumped at the chance to appear in the film which presented him with a unique opportunity.

“To be able to play a guy in a real world situation that is actually taking place in a place like Saudi Arabia, of which we know absolutely nothing whatsoever… You’re making a movie that people can recognise as themselves in a place that is completely unrecognised,” he enthused. “I think that’s what you’re going for in any movie.”
