La La Land director taking musical talents to TV

Oscar-winning La La Land director Damien Chazelle is taking his love for musicals to TV by taking charge of a new series.
The acclaimed filmmaker is attached to direct The Eddy, a musical drama set in contemporary Paris that revolves around the owner of a club and his house band.
The project will be written by Jack Thorne, the brains behind hit London play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The script is currently being shopped to cable and streaming outlets, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Chazelle, 32, became the youngest Best Director winner at the Academy Awards in February (17). He’s also currently at work on a Neil Armstrong biopic, titled First Man, which will reunite him with his La La Land leading man Ryan Gosling, who is attached to play the astronaut.
