Alan Vega’s first posthumous record to be released

Punk icon Alan Vega’s first posthumous record is set for release later this year (17).
The Suicide singer passed away last year (16), while he was in the middle of working on his nine-track LP, titled IT, alongside his wife Liz Lamere.
She has since put the finishing touches to the release, which will serve as Vega’s first solo project since 2007’s Station, and it is now set to be released next month (Jul17).
While working on the album, Vega watched news programmes and walked around New York City to come up with ideas for the record.
“Alan’s life force was so strong because he believed in his vision and purpose,” reads a statement from Lamere. “He understood we can’t control much of what happens to us, or in our world, but we have free will and the power to go on and stand for what we believe in.”
The album will be released in digital and vinyl format, with the record package featuring Vega’s unpublished drawings, writings and photos, according to RollingStone.com.
