Brad Pitt Celebrates Oscar Nods With Pancakes

Brad PittHow does a superstar like Brad Pitt celebrate his two Oscar nominations (one for Best Actor and the other for Best Producer, both for Moneyball)? With pancakes of course: “It’s going to be pancakes this morning for everyone.”  In an interview with the Today Show this morning, the actor talked about his nominations as well as those of his friend George Clooney, co-star Jonah Hill and director on Tree of Life, Terrence Malick.

Pitt was excited that his little film that could even garnered any attention, saying, “It means so much considering this film was dead on the rocks two years ago,” and adding that it’s a tribute to the film’s subject, Oakland A’s manager Billy Beane. And when it comes to a nomination that surprised most of us, Pitt couldn’t be happier: “So happy for Jonah Hill, I can’t even tell you.”

But what of his bestie, Clooney? The silver fox hadn’t yet called him to congratulate him, but Pitt was all grace and congratuations even though he and Clooney will face off in the Best Actor category. “It’s more fun to have a friend there and no does it better than George. I say give him all the trophies and when you run out of trophies, make some more and give those to him too.” Don’t you just love a guy who can laugh when Clooney steals his cane at the Globes and then praise him whole-heartedly a week or so later?
