CMT Nominations: Carrie Underwood Dominates; Who Got Snubbed

Carrie UnderwoodThe nominations for the 2012 CMT Music Awards have been announced, and, well, let’s just say: (blonde) girl power! Unofficial CMT hall-of-famer and seven-time winner Carrie Underwood leads the pack with five nominations. But poor Miranda Lambert got snubbed by only getting four — and Taylor Swift? She’s tied with several others with three nominations.

Underwood, the former American Idol champ, is up for just about every major award for which she is eligible, including Video of the Year (“Good Girl”) and Collaborative Video of the Year (“Remind Me” with Brad Paisley). Meanwhile, Lambert — who is, of course, married to Blake Shelton, himself a three-time nominee this year — is recognized twice for her solo work and twice as a member of the newly formed country group the Pistol Annies.

Fans can vote now through June 4 to determine the winners of the 11th Annual CMT Awards online at CMT.com (or its mobile site) and the CMT Insider app — and the winners will be announced on June 6 at 8/7c. Read on for a list of nominees in the major categories.
