Donald Fagen assault charges to be dropped

Steely Dan frontman Donald Fagen has avoided prosecution in his misdemeanour assault case.
The rocker, 68, was arrested earlier this month (Jan16), and accused of forcibly shoving his wife Libby into a marble window frame at their New York City home.
Fagen was subsequently arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court and charged with assault and harassment. He was released without bail and also ordered to stay away from his wife after the judge issued an order of protection against him.
According to the New York Daily News, the charges against Fagen will be dropped in one year if he stays out of trouble with the law, as per a conditional dismissal deal, which was made on Monday (25Jan16) in New York.
