Elvis Presley back on top of the U.K. charts 38 years after his death

Elvis Presley has scored his 12th number one album in the U.K. almost 40 years after his death.
If I Can Dream, a collection of Elvis songs reworked by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, has shot to the top of the countdown with the second-best opening week sales of 2015.
Thrilled by the success of the new release, the late superstar’s ex-wife Priscilla Presley tells OfficialCharts.com, “This is an album that Elvis always really wanted to do and he would have been so pleased to know his fans are still there and they continue to love his music.
“The most talented team put this album together and helped us all realise an unfulfilled dream.”
Elvis, who has had more U.K. number one albums than any other male solo artist, just beat Rod Stewart to the top spot – the rocker’s Another Country is his 34th top 10 album.
Elbow frontman Guy Garvey rounds out the new top three with his debut solo album, Courting the Squall.
Meanwhile, Adele scores a second week atop the U.K. singles chart with her comeback track Hello, the fastest-selling song of 2015, while Justin Bieber’s Sorry stays put at number two. Sam Smith’s Bond theme Writing’s On The Wall, The Hills by The Weeknd and Drake’s Hotline Bling round out the top five.
