George Clooney & Red Hot Chili Peppers Back President Obama

George ClooneyTons of Hollywood figures have made it to the White House and gotten face-to-face time with President Obama. Justin Bieber met him at the 30th Annual Christmas In Washington concert, while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stopped by the Oval Office in January. Now, George Clooney and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will get chances to back the president. Clooney is organizing a fundraiser for the president, while the Chili Peppers are playing a free concert for Obama’s campaign volunteers.

Clooney’s fundraiser will welcome 150 people, each who will donate $40,000 toward the president’s campaign for reelection. The event will take place at Clooney’s home on Thursday, May 10 — which might seem like a strange day to host a fundraiser, unless you are in Hollywood. Celebrities don’t actually have to work during the week like the rest of us.

“I’m proud to do whatever I can to support the President… as long as no one asks me to sing,” Clooney tells ET. That’s where Anthony Kiedis comes in.

While Clooney will be raising funds, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform for Obama’s volunteers on April 15 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. Doors open at 11:45 AM ET. The night prior, the Chili Peppers will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
