Hudson Rocks the Super Bowl

“Oh, say can you see … “ Jennifer Hudson?

There’s been previous mentions of Hudson’s “first appearance” which were soon followed by a correction that she would not be in attendance.

But, this sounds like it might work out.

Hudson will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in what will be her first performance since her family murder tragedy last October, reports People magazine.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed on Wednesday, Jan. 14, that the Dreamgirls Oscar winner, 27, will deliver “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Tampa, Fla., event on Feb. 1.

Her Super Bowl honor will come just days before Hudson is also scheduled to sing the songs of Neil Diamond at a Feb. 6 MusiCares Person of the Year gala in Los Angeles.

Hudson has been in seclusion since her mother, brother and nephew were killed in Chicago.
