Angelina Jolie recently filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. Allegedly, the actress was unhappy with the way he treated their children, but there appears to be a bit more to the story.
According to TMZ, Pitt is being investigated by the LAPD and the L.A. County Department of Children And Family Services for verbal and physical abuse against his children. The abuse allegedly occurred on a flight taken by Pitt, Jolie and their children. Pitt got drunk and apparently screamed and acted physical with the kids. The private plane landed around 8 PM and witnesses say that Pitt continued yelling on the tarmac and tried leaving in a fuel truck. A person who was either on the flight or on the tarmac anonymously reported him to the DCFS.
According to TMZ, the parents are currently under review. It’s been reported that they’ve been interviewed by the DCFS, but the department is coming back to interview the children. However, the LAPD have confirmed that Pitt is not under investigation — at least with them. They said no complaints against the actor have been filed
“We have no criminal investigation that we are actively pursuing,” said Sgt. Barry Montgomery. “To my knowledge, [Pitt talking to police] never happened. And right now, that is where our office is. We are not investigating any case, nor do we have any allegations against Mr. Pitt. We understand how rumors get spun up and hopefully we can put a few of them to rest. We have no investigation involving Mr. Pitt.”
According to sources, the alleged airplane outburst is what caused Jolie to file for divorce, though a different source also claims Brad is innocent.
“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” said the source adding, “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
Jolie and Pitt have been together for 12 years, though they’ve only been married for two. This whole thing is heartbreaking regardless of what is or isn’t true.
