A quick warning to all animal-lovers: This one’s a tear-jerker. Last weekend Jeremy Renner‘s 8-month-old puppy Franklin dropped dead while playing outdoors. Jeremy’s friend/business partner Kristoffer Winters had been dogsitting the miniature French bulldog, and on Saturday he took him to his nephew’s little league game in Orange County. Franklin was having fun running around the baseball field, so Kristoffer left to get a snack. When he returned a woman was holding the dog’s dead body.
Franklin had started to vomit and convulse, and though three people gave him mouth to mouth, they weren’t able to save him. French bulldogs are prone to heart problems, and it’s likely that, coupled with the 80 degree weather, is what did the pooch in.
Jeremy is grief-stricken, as he Franklin were very close. In December the Bourne Legacystar told Details, “Right now the only thing consistent in my life is that little dog. That’s why I got it. I was getting really lonely,” adding, “I needed somebody or something to be there with me through the whole journey.”
