Jon Hamm Calls Kim Kardashian ‘Idiot’: Hollywood’s Favorite Punching Bag?

ALTConsidering how awful celebrities’ behavior can be, it’s a bit shocking that the Kardashians have become the family Hollywood loves to hate. They haven’t committed any felonies (as far as we know), and in fact, their biggest crimes include Khloe’s DUI and rampant overuse of the letter “K.” Yet, the insults keep on coming.

The latest is from Mad Men star Jon Hamm. In an interview with Elle UK, he said, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.” Hamm added, “Incuriousness has become cool… It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.” One might argue that it takes a certain amount of intelligence to make everyone in your family a celebrity when you aren’t particularly good at acting, singing, or dancing, however, Hamm isn’t alone. Here’s a look back at some of the nastiest burns directed toward Kim and company:

Jonah Hill

When talking to The Huffington Post in December, Jonah Hill lamented the fact that the Kardashians are more popular than Mad Men — though he also admitted that he enjoys watching reality TV. He said, “The truth of it is, I have friends who work in TV and the Kardashians get higher ratings than their TV shows. Shows that people actually work hard on; writing, and creating, and trying to tell stories. The fact that the Kardashians could be more popular than a show like Mad Men is disgusting.” Can’t highbrow dramas coexist with lighter fare? We didn’t hear Khloe complaining about Jonah following up Moneyball with the comedy 21 Jump Street.

Sacha Baron Cohen

At least Jonah Hill was trying to make a point about the state of our culture. Sacha Baron Cohen‘s Kardashians’ dig is just pointless and mean. In the trailer for his upcoming film The Dictator we see his character trying to give Megan Fox a ruby in return for sexual favors. She says, “Is this a joke? Am I a Kardashian?” to which he replies, “Of course not. You’re much less hairy.”

Michael Buble

Sacha Baron Cohen is know for his lewd humor, but even notorious nice guy Michael Buble took a random shot at Kim. At a concert in the fall he announced, “Please welcome Kim Kardashian,” then added, “Nah, just f**ing with you! That b**ch isn’t coming on my stage.”

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg used the same expletive in a web video released in January, in which he tells Kris Humphries he shouldn’t have tried to “wife the b**ch.” Though we’re fairly certain Snoop isn’t a licensed marital counselor, and it’s unclear if he’s even met Kim, he offered this bit of advice: “She’s not that type of a h–, she gets around … She’s cold-blooded, I’m pretty sure she’ll have a book in a month talking about all the n—-s that she got and how she played them.”

Cher

Kim’s short-lived marriage seems to have riled up quite a few celebrities. In the fall Cher when on an anti-Kardashian Twitter rant and it had nothing to do with Robert Kardashian competing against her son Chaz Bono on Dancing With the Stars at the time. Her Tweets, “Never saw a Kardashian but these B–ches should b Drop kicked down a freeway! Not kidding!” and “feel like I live in a cave! Once watched J&Kate they were sweet! This s–t is HARD CORE! Is true Kardashian did Porno ! I’m so Fkn outa it !” led many to conclude that Cher’s meltdown was instigated by the Kardashians’ wedding special. Later Cher claimed she was talking about Bridezillas, but that doesn’t really explain the reference to Kim’s sex tape.

Mariah Carey

While discussing her marriage to Nick Cannon in November, Mariah Carey said, “I’m a real person, I’m not going to put on a fake face for Hollywood. Sometimes we make each other mad, that’s why we aren’t divorced after four months.” Yes, attacking the Kardashians became so popular after Kim’s divorce that Mimi was able to insult her without even saying her name.
