Morgan Freeman, Debra Messing and Mandy Moore turned out for the annual USA Today Hollywood Hero Awards in Los Angeles, with Judd receiving the night’s highest honour.
The Double Jeopardy star has served as a Global Ambassador for Population Services International’s YouthAIDS program since 2002, helping the organisation’s HIV education and prevention drive.
And the actress admits she is honoured to be able to help out.
Judd says, “I’m just the front woman. I was just lucky that this wonderful organisation was put in my lap and I had the opportunity to be involved with them.”
Previous recipients of the award include sports star Magic Johnson and actress Geena Davis.
