Justin Bieber may be very busy out promoting his new album, Under The Mistletoe, but he’s also very busy trying to prove he is not the father of Mariah Yeater’s three-month-old baby boy. You see, Yeater maintains that after a concert in L.A., she and Bieber met up and had sex, which makes Bieber the newborn’s father — and Yeater has recently filed a paternity lawsuit against him that asks him for financial support. The new mom is also insisting that Bieber take a paternity test “to scientifically confirm” he is the child’s father so he can “provide adequate support.”
Through his representative, Bieber (who has dated Selena Gomez for about a year) issued a statement to Us Weekly, saying “While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate, malicious, defamatory AND demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.” It’s clear the pop singer categorically denies encountering Yeater in any capacity, and so chances are this is some poor girl in an unpleasant situation who’s trying to find someone to help her.
It’s unclear whether or not Bieber’s defense team will recommend that he take a paternity test or if they will find some other way to prove that the pop icon isn’t the father of the baby. And as legitimate of an argument most of us think it would be, it’s not like his lawyers can point to Selena Gomez and say, “see? He couldn’t have gotten Yeater pregnant!” So I guess if you have any information about the whereabouts of Justin Bieber about a year ago, please contact your local authorities.
