Prepare yourself, Twihards. (Or pick up those Team Jacob shirts?) After reports surfaced Wednesday that Kristen Stewart cheated on Twilight costar/boyfriend Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the actress publicly admitted to an affair with a heart-felt statement regarding her “indiscretion.”
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” Stewart said in the statement, according to People.com. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
The 41-year-old Sanders — who has two children with model Liberty Ross — also released a statement to Hollywood.com: “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world, I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
Stewart’s affair with Sanders happened just four years after she met Pattinson during filming of the first movie of the Twilight series. Pictures in Us Weekly show Stewart and Sanders in the midst of a make-out session in a car, as well as several cozy pictures of Stewart and Sanders.
Pattinson has yet to react to Stewart’s admission. So… Team Jacob?
