Laura Linney and Anna Kendrick play historical love rivals in TV skit

Oscar nominees Laura Linney and Anna Kendrick played love rivals in a skit on comedian John Oliver’s U.S. show Last Week Tonight on Sunday (02Jul17).
After purchasing a wax replica of former U.S. President Warren G. Harding, Oliver made a short film about the late 1920s leader, in which Linney played his wife and Kendrick his mistress, Nan Britton.
The sketch also featured Michael McKean, Campbell Scott, and Babe star James Cromwell.
Oliver wasn’t the only U.S. TV celebrity to pick up a waxwork president from a museum sale – Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow and Stephen Colbert also paid thousands for the replicas of late leaders, while the Last Week Tonight host also picked up the doubles of Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter.
