LCD Soundsystem announce Coachella warm up shows

Dance stars LCD Soundsystem will stage two low-key reunion shows in their native New York before heading to California’s Coachella music festival.
The Losing My Edge hitmakers, who split in 2011, confirmed plans to stage a comeback in January (16), when they were announced as one of the big acts on the line-up for Coachella.
But, before frontman James Murphy and his group head to sunny California, they will warm up with a pair of gigs at Manhattan’s Webster Hall.
The bandmates announced the news on Twitter on Thursday (24Mar16) by sharing a poster, which read: “LCD Soundsystem back from the dead,” adding, “LCD Soundsystem will rise from the dead this Easter Sunday at Webster Hall – NYC”.
The shows will take place on Sunday (27Mar16) and Monday (28Mar16), but fans will have to enter a lottery system to gain access to tickets. The lucky few will be notified of their success on Friday (25Mar16).
The stars have also lined up festival sets at Bonnaroo in Tennessee and Primavera Sound in Spain this summer (16), while they are reportedly set to announce further dates in the coming weeks.
LCD Soundsystem won’t be the only band reuniting for Coachella. Guns N’ Roses’ original line-up, featuring Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, will also be gracing the stage for the festival’s two weekends, from 15 to 17 April and from 22 to 24 April (16).
