It seems as though internet sensation Lucas Cruikshank has as many detractors as he does fans. After he created a character named Fred Figglehorn for a series of YouTube videos, Cruikshank's channel reached one million subscribers in 2009. The success led to the TV series "Fred" and "Fred: The Movie," which ran on Nickelodeon in 2010, featuring the adventures of Cruikshank's character, a dysfunctional six-year-old who speaks in a distinct high-pitched voice. The character became a cultural phenomenon and led to spinoffs, sequels, and an appearance for the actor on "iCarly." In 2012, the series "Fred: The Show" began, in which a grown-up Fred is now attending high school.
