Megyn Kelly’s TV show cancelled following offensive remarks

U.S. TV host Megyn Kelly has been fired from her morning talk show following controversial remarks she made earlier this week (ends26Oct18).
The newswoman hit headlines on Tuesday (23Oct18) after suggesting that it was acceptable for white people to wear blackface as long as it was part of a Halloween costume.
She has since apologised for her racially-insensitive remarks, but executives at NBC have now officially announced the cancellation of her Megyn Kelly Today show, which debuted in September, 2017.
“Megyn Kelly Today is not returning,” a statement from a network representative confirms.
According to reports, Kelly is currently negotiating her exit from the broadcaster. She has not appeared on air since Wednesday (24Oct18), when she opened the show with a public apology.
Prior to the talk show’s axe, the controversy had prompted stars from political drama House of Cards to cancel a planned promotional slot on Megyn Kelly Today, which was due to take place next week ahead of the sixth and final season’s release on 2 November (18).
