Michael Anthony: ‘Van Halen management reached out to me about reunion last year’

Former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony has confirmed he was approached about a possible reunion with the group last year (18).
The rocker, who was replaced by Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang in the band, reveals talks of a get together clearly broke down, because nothing came of his chat with management.
“I was actually contacted by their management last October, to see if I would be interested in something,” he tells radio host Howard Stern, “and that’s basically as far as it went.
“I think they were trying to put something together on their end, management was, and something broke down on their end and the plug got pulled.”
Anthony admits he would still be interested in a Van Halen reunion “if it was done the correct way”.
Reports suggest the original Van Halen lineup will reunite in 2019 for a run of stadium shows, marking the first time Van Halen brothers Eddie and Alex, Michael Anthony and singer David Lee Roth have graced a stage together for 35 years.
