Police Shut Down Elizabeth Hurley Wedding Party

One of Elizabeth Hurley‘s many wedding parties in India was shut down by police in the early hours of Wednesday morning after local residents complained about the noise.

Hurley and new husband Arun Nayar are celebrating their marriage–which took place in England last Friday–with a series of bashes and an Indian ceremony this week.

The newlyweds celebrated their nuptials at Indian socialite Parmeshwar Godr’s beachfront bungalow in Mumbai on Tuesday night, with guests including Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan.

The party started at 10:30 p.m. and continued into the early hours of Wednesday morning, much to the displeasure of Godr’s neighbors, who phoned the police.

When the police arrived at 2 a.m., they booked music organizer Ghanshyam Singh for “playing loud music beyond permissible time limits in a residential locality” and fined him 3,000 rupees ($67).

Later on Wednesday, the bride and groom flew to Jodhpur, where they will repeat their vows in a traditional Indian ceremony at the stunning Umaid Bhavan Palace later today.

The guests include Princess Chantal of Greece, designer Tom Ford and Estee Lauder mogul Evelyn Lauder.
