Rachel Roy and Damon Dash’s daughter lands modelling contract

Rachel Roy and Damon Dash’s daughter Ava has been snapped up by DT Model Management.
The 17-year-old often accompanies her fashion designer mother to red carpet events, with model agency bigwigs obviously taking notice of the teen’s flawless style and beauty.
Rachel showed her support for her daughter’s new venture on Thursday night (27Apr17) by sharing the WWD article which broke the news. Ava also posted the article to her followers.
Speaking to the fashion publication at the Tiffany & Co. HardWear party in Los Angeles earlier this week, Ava explained that fashion has always been in her blood.
“Being that my mom is a fashion designer, I’ve been around that my whole life,” she smiled. “I’ve always loved being at her shoots or at her runway shows and loved watching the models get ready. I’ve always wanted to do that. Now that I’m old enough I can actually pursue that. I’m excited.”
Her modelling ambitions include featuring in Sports Illustrated and modelling for Victoria’s Secret and Balmain, and she confesses she’d love to have a career like her close friend Chanel Iman.
And when it comes to what her famous mother thinks, Ava says she’s been totally supportive and has already started to give her tips.
“She’s told me to stay true to myself and not to get down if certain companies don’t want me or if the pictures don’t come out great,” she shared. “She said to always love myself and have that be the basis, and then try to please other people. Please yourself first and if you’re comfortable with everything that’s going on, then do whatever it is.”
Rachel and Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon, who divorced in 2009, also have eight-year-old daughter Tallulah.
