Rimes ‘Takes the High Road’ Over Cibrian Allegations

LeAnn Rimes has dismissed allegations that she is “obsessed” with actor Eddie Cibrian after his wife accused the singer of pestering her husband — insisting she is too “classy” to address the issue in the press.

Rimes, who is married to dancer Dean Sheremet, sparked rumors of an illicit liaison with her Northern Lights co-star Cibrian in March after leaked security camera footage caught the pair enjoying an intimate dinner together in California.

The singer refused to comment on the alleged infidelity, while Cibrian labeled the stories “fabricated.”

But Cibrian’s wife, Brandi Glanville, slammed Rimes earlier this week, accusing the 26-year-old of “stalking” her husband.

She told Us Weekly magazine, “LeAnn is a stalker. She refuses to leave us alone — it is shameful and scary. People are going to say it takes two to tango and I get that, but at some point LeAnn needs to stop asking him to dance.”

But Rimes has decided “to take the high road” over the allegations, refusing to go into details about Glanville’s claims — because she doesn’t want to hurt the people involved in the scandal.

She tells People.com, “You know what, I’m a classy woman. I’m never ever going to battle anything out in the press. I have respect for everyone that is involved and everyone’s family, including my own. I would never want to hurt my husband or anyone else with more lies dragged out in the press.

“It is what it is. I can’t control other people, but I can control what I say and what I don’t. I refuse to get down on anyone else’s level and I’m going to take the high road on everything.”
