Shawn Mendes surprises fans during Camilla Cabello’s hospital video chat

Singer Shawn Mendes gave young hospital patients a sweet surprise on Wednesday (April 8, 2020) by crashing girlfriend Camila Cabello’s video chat.

The Havana hitmaker connected with fans at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. via a special video call, during which they were able to ask her questions while Cabello also treated them to mini renditions of her songs.

However, she wasn’t the only pop star the kids got to talk to – Mendes, who is self-isolating with Cabello during the coronavirus crisis, made an unexpected appearance during the session.

In footage posted on Instagram, the Canadian musician walks into the room Cabello is sitting in and quips to one fan, “Did you say how fun is it quarantined (sic) with Shawn? It’s the most fun!”

Nodding in agreement, Cabello revealed he’s been getting creative in the kitchen.

“It’s the most fun,” she commented. “He made broccoli eggs today… It sounds terrible, but it tastes great!”

The remote interview was conducted through the hospital’s broadcast studio designed specially for kids, which was donated by TV presenter Ryan Seacrest through his charity foundation.

The clip was posted on the Ryan Seacrest Foundation Instagram page, and captioned, “Just when the kids thought their video call with @Camila_Cabello couldn’t get any better, @ShawnMendes enters the chat. Thank you both for hanging out and pulling off this surprise.”

Cabello and Mendes began dating last year (2019) after collaborating on their steamy single Senorita.
