Teenage Fanclub bassist quits band

Teenage Fanclub co-founder Gerard Love is leaving the band after 30 years following an apparent falling out with his bandmates.
The bassist will bow out of the influential Scottish group following a final London show at the end of the year (Nov18).
Love co-founded Teenage Fanclub in 1989 with Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley.
In a statement released on Monday (20Aug18), Love’s departure was attributed to “a continuing and sadly unresolvable difference of opinion” on the group’s upcoming touring plans.
“Following discussions within the band going back several months there is a continuing and sadly unresolvable difference of opinion on whether the band should proceed with proposed touring plans,” the statement reads. “So after that London show, Gerry will be separating from the band, and Teenage Fanclub will be continuing without him. The band wish Gerry all the best in his future musical endeavours.”
