While she was jogging in Santa Monica yesterday morning, Reese Witherspoon was running through an unmarked intersection and was struck by a car when its 84 year-old driver did not slow down. NBC L.A. spoke to Santa Monica Police spokesman Sgt. Richard Lewis, who said Witherspoon “suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment.” She was released from the hospital a few hours later and spent last night at home. Lewis indicated that the driver of the vehicle was going 20 mph, and was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian. – MTV
As Evan Rachel Wood was celebrating her 24th birthday at a club in Paris with her friends, things got too rowdy and someone elbowed her in the face and knocked out one of her teeth. TMZ has a picture of the tooth, if you’re so inclined. – TMZ
Madonna created a firestorm on the internet for an incident that occurred while she was promoting her new movie, W.E. at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week. Someone tried to be nice and handed her a bouquet of hydrangeas, but she quickly handed them to someone else and muttered, “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. Obviously he didn’t know that.” And yesterday, Madonna’s representative defended her client’s rejection of the flowers, saying “The hydrangea incident is so ridiculous..It’s not like she said she hated warm chocolate chip cookies and milk and little puppies!” But I mean come on, she works out for five hours a day.
