The Replacements dedicate song to Slim Dunlap at landmark U.K. show

Punk veterans THE REPLACEMENTS dedicated a song to their stricken guitarist SLIM DUNLAP at their first U.K. show in 24 years on Tuesday night (02Jun15).
The group disbanded in 1991 and spent more than two decades out of the spotlight before reuniting in 2013 for a show at a festival in Toronto, Canada. The rockers have since played a number of gigs in North America, but they waited until Tuesday night to make their big return to Britain.
They performed their first U.K. concert in 24 years at the Roundhouse venue in London, and during their set, they dedicated their song I’ll Be You to their former guitarist Dunlap, who suffered a devastating stroke in 2012, prompting his bandmates to reunite to raise money for his medical treatment.
Dunlap, 63, replaced original member Bob Stinson in the line-up following the musician’s death in 1987.
The Replacements recently announced plans to record new material, 25 years after the release of their last album, All Shook Down, in 1990.
