Children Of Bodom show axed amid Brussels lockdown

Children Of Bodom’s upcoming show in Brussels has been cancelled as the Belgian capital remains on lockdown in the aftermath of the terror attacks in Paris.
Security was stepped up in the city following the gun and bomb attacks in France on 13 November (15) as authorities across Belgium joined the hunt for those responsible, with schools and public transport networks being shut down.
Many shops and restaurants were also closed, and sports games and concerts have also been affected, and although facilities are now starting to reopen, authorities in Brussels remain on high alert with armed police officers and soldiers patrolling the streets.
The heightened security measures have now prompted rock group Children Of Bodom to call off a planned gig in Brussels on Sunday (29Nov15).
“Unfortunately, our show in Belgium has been cancelled…” the rockers say in a statement. “This is due to the terror threat level being at a 4 until the 30th – (the authorities are) forced to cancel all shows. You should know the venue did try everything to keep this show, including requesting extra security from the city, but that wasn’t possible. We are grateful to them for trying.
“We are looking to try to get another show nearby and will let you know as soon as we have something, but you should refund your tickets to this show. All other Children Of Bodom shows are still happening, so come out and see you soon.”
Artists including Bring me the Horizon and veteran crooner Johnny Halliday previously cancelled concerts in the region due to the terror alert.
The attacks in Paris, which claimed more than 130 lives, have caused havoc with tour schedules in Europe as artists including U2, Foo Fighters and Marilyn Manson scrapped gigs in the aftermath of the bloodshed.
