Goosebumps novels adapted for London theatre

An immersive theatre experience based on beloved children’s book series Goosebumps is set to open in London in April (16).
The franchise, created by author R.L. Stine, was transformed into a TV series in the 1990s and a movie starring Jack Black, which was released in the U.S. in October (15).
Goosebumps is now being adapted into a theatre experience – ticketholders will walk around old railway tunnels called The Vaults under London’s Waterloo Station and become involved in “spine-tingling scenes” inspired by books including Stay Out of the Basement and Night of the Living Dummy.
The Vaults’ director Kieron Vanstone says, “Immersive events have become the lifeblood of London culture… and Goosebumps is perfectly suited to the genre. These stories were made to be experienced up close, with every shiver, sound and unsettling sight.”
The experience, which is aimed at adults, runs from 6 April (16) to 4 September (16). A children’s version will run at weekends and holidays from 14 May (16) to 4 September (16).
