Adam Lambert: ‘I don’t want to record new music with Queen’

Adam Lambert has assured Queen die-hards he’ll never record new material with Roger Taylor and Brian May.
The former American Idol star has spent years touring with the Queen stars, performing the songs Freddie Mercury recorded, but he sees no sense in releasing new music.
“People always ask if we want to record together,” he tells Hunger. “I’m not sure it makes total sense because it wouldn’t really be Queen, because, to me, Queen is Freddie.”
But his bandmates, May and Taylor, are still considering the possibility of recording something new – guitarist May has said “you never know” when asked about recording with Lambert, while drummer Taylor added the idea is “quite possible”.
“If we do anything in the future, I’d like it to be something new,” Taylor told Planet Rock in 2016.
Meanwhile, Lambert has a new solo album out later this year (19).
