Alan Cumming to star in Dr. Death TV adaptation

Actor Alan Cumming has been cast as a former U.S. intelligence officer in a TV series adaptation of James Patterson’s upcoming book Dr. Death.
The X-Men star will also serve as an executive producer on the series about a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer-turned-professor and writer, who becomes involved in a manhunt when New York Police Department officials recruit him to help them find a serial killer.
Author Patterson will also be among the executive producers.
“It’s great to imagine Alan in the role,” the writer says. “There aren’t many stars who can convincingly play drama and comedy with effortless wit, not to mention a musical savant and crime-solving genius.”
The book will be published next year (17), but it is unclear when the show will begin filming.
