America Ferrera considered converting to Judaism when she was young

Actress America Ferrera wanted to convert to Judaism when she was young in a desperate attempt to boost her love life.
The former Ugly Betty star grew up in a heavily Jewish area in Los Angeles, California and reveals every boy she liked was Jewish, so she thought it would benefit her to begin practising the religion if she wanted to have a chance at love.
“I heard (the boys) only marry Jewish girls, (so I thought I should convert),” she told U.S. late night host Seth Meyers on Tuesday (24Nov15). “I also wanted a Bat Mitzvah (birthday celebration). So everytime I would go to a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, I would, like, look for the pamphlets, like, ‘Are you interested in converting’.
“They’re not around, funny enough. I did not convert in the end. I married a non-Jew and it’s working out.”
Ferrera married actor/director Ryan Piers Williams in 2011.
