American Gladiator Viper hit with cycle smash lawsuit

American Gladiators star Scott Berlinger has been hit with a lawsuit from a woman who alleges he ploughed into her while cycling in New York, leaving her with a broken wrist. Berlinger, who starred as Viper in the hit U.S. combat show in 1992 and 1993, is accused of colliding with accountant Angela Coppa as she jogged through Central Park.
She suffered a broken wrist which required surgery, according to the New York Post.
Coppa has filed a lawsuit at Manhattan Supreme Court accusing the former TV star of failing to pay proper attention and cycling into her from behind.
She alleges he was riding “in reckless disregard for the safety and welfare of others… (and) did not use reasonable care while riding” prior to the incident in July, 2012.
Coppa is seeking an unspecified sum for damages.
