Amy Schumer bans fan selfies after clash with overzealous man

Trainwreck actress Amy Schumer will no longer pose for selfies with fans after she was accosted in the street by an overzealous man.
The 34-year-old took to Instagram on Saturday (30Apr16) to share her shocking experience with her followers and explain her new stance on pictures.
Alongside a photo of a man wearing a baseball cap and glasses, with a smile on his face and his thumb up to the camera, she wrote: “This guy in front of his family just ran up next to me scared the sh*t out of me.
“Put a camera in my face. I asked him to stop and he said ” no it’s America and we paid for you” this was in front of his daughter. I was saying stop and no.”
The altercation which took place in Greenville, South Carolina clearly got to Amy, especially as it was in front of the man’s loved ones and such a public space.
“Great message to your kid,” she continued. “Yes legally you are allowed to take a picture of me. But I was asking you to stop and saying no. I will not take picture with people anymore and it’s because of this dude in Greenville. (sic)”
The star’s fans were quick to come out in support, agreeing the man’s tactics had been out of order.
“What an a*s! Don’t blame you. That would have terrified me!” one Instagram user wrote, while another added: “This makes me sad. I’m sorry this happened and hope you know this a*shole doesn’t represent the rest of Greenville (I live here).”
After getting the ordeal off her chest, Amy seemed to want to reassure fans that while she wouldn’t pose for pictures any more, she wasn’t going to let it ruin her weekend.
“We gon be alright! (sic)” she captioned another photo featuring her laughing as she walked along with two men.
Amy is currently in the midst of her latest stand up tour which will end on 23 June (16) at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
