Author Amy Krouse Rosenthal loses cancer battle

Author and filmmaker Amy Krouse Rosenthal has died, aged 51.
She lost her battle with ovarian cancer on Monday (13Mar17).
The writer penned over 30 books, including the bestselling picture stories Uni the Unicorn and Duck! Rabbit!, and she was also a regular contributor to America’s NPR network and a columnist for The New York Times.
A mum-of-three, she also made headlines for kind stunts, which included hanging dollar bills from a tree and penning a public dating profile for her husband, Jason Brian Rosenthal, in the Times.
In the essay You May Want to Marry My Husband, she wrote: “I am wrapping this up on Valentine’s Day, and the most genuine, non-vase-oriented gift I can hope for is that the right person reads this, finds Jason, and another love story begins.”
The Fault in Our Stars author John Green was among the first people to pay tribute to Amy on Monday, tweeting: “She was a brilliant writer, and an even better friend.”
