Barry Manilow ‘feeling great’ after hospitalisation

Barry Manilow has reassured fans he is well again after he was forced to cancel the launch of his Las Vegas residency due to ill health.
The 75-year-old music legend was hospitalised with a chest infection last week (end17Jun18), forcing him to abandon plans to launch his residency and pull out of three subsequent shows.
He returned to the stage on Thursday, and appeared on U.K. TV show Good Morning Britain to give fans an update on his health.
“I’m feeling great, it was very dramatic, I haven’t got much drama in my life so this is fantastic,” he said, before revealing that the infection had progressed to pneumonia and left him unable to breathe.
Telling fans how he had defied doctors orders to sing again, he added: “They put me in hospital and fixed me up and said I should rest for six weeks and I gave it four days and came back.”
The Copacabana hitmaker’s residency dates were scheduled to coincide with his 75th birthday on Sunday. Manilow, who has five more dates left of his brief residency, expressed his dismay over his return to Vegas being delayed when he announced he had to cancel his gigs.
“I can’t believe this is happening,” the star shared on Facebook ahead of the abandoned launch. “Our new show is ready, we’re all ready, and we were all looking forward to tonight.”
The singer was released from hospital on Saturday after two days of rest, liquids, and antibiotics.
