Country star Blake Shelton has startled fans by revealing his next album may be his last.
The Honey Bee singer, who is dating Gwen Stefani, said that before the release of his most recent album, 2016’s If I’m Honest, but he insists he’s seriously looking to move on from being a recording artist.
“That last album I made was gonna be my last and this next album I’m makin’s probably gonna be my last album,” he said while promoting The Voice recently. “So I really gotta decide what I wanna do.”
His fellow judge on the show, Alicia Keys, admits fans should take him seriously, because she can see him retiring to his country spread in Oklahoma.
“I could see you not doing entertainment though, actually,” she said. “Just gettin’ up early, weeding and hoein'”, prompting Blake to quip, that “hoein’ means something different in Oklahoma!”
Shelton released his first album in 2001 and since then he has had success with another 11, three compilations and a Christmas album.
