Boyzone to reunite for 25th anniversary

Irish pop group Boyzone are reuniting to celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2018.
Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch announced on Monday (29May17) they would be returning with new music and a full tour next year, with exclusive preview shows beginning later this summer.
“2018 will see Boyzone celebrate their 25th anniversary! That’s something that Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane are incredibly proud of,” a post on the band’s official Instagram read. “Plans are being hatched for new music and lots of touring throughout the year.
“But next year still seems a long way off so in case you can’t wait, the Boyz are hitting the road for some exclusive UK shows later this summer. Dates and ticketing details will be announced here soon…”
Founded in 1993 by pop impresario Louis Walsh, the band have had 18 top 10 hits and six number one singles on the U.K. chart. The group initially split in 2000 but have reunited a number of times, most recently for their 20th anniversary in 2013.
Last year, Keith joined forces with Brian McFadden of fellow Irish boyband Westlife to form a supergroup duo, Boyzlife, but is now set to rejoin his old bandmates on their reunion trek.
Boyzone’s fifth member Stephen Gately passed away in 2009 due to complications from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was 33 years old.
