Cate Blanchett in talks for Eli Roth children’s horror adaptation

Cate Blanchett is poised to join Jack Black in horror director Eli Roth’s movie adaptation of The House With A Clock In Its Walls.
The film, based on the 1973 John Bellairs children’s book of the same name, follows the adventures of a recently-orphaned boy sent to live with his mysterious uncle, a secret warlock, and the surprising and scary discoveries he makes as he explores his relative’s old house.
Details about the role Cate is in talks for have yet to be made public, but fans have speculated she could be portraying the uncle’s friend and next-door neighbour, a powerful good witch named Florence Zimmermann.
Roth will direct the family-friendly project from a script by Eric Kripke, reports Variety.com.
A release date has yet to be announced.
